The most serious problems that the human race faces this century are the issues concerning environment, energy, and resources. The Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering carries out research in a diverse range of related fields to the end of coping with these problems in a systematic and synthetic manner, and offers education aimed at cultivating human resources capable of taking up the task. Our graduate program seeks open-minded students and employed people who wish to take up these challenges for the first time, as well as students who have already completed an undergraduate degree in fields pertaining to energy and the environment. As for the lectures in the Master's Course, we offer a unique double-major education system in which students select two majors from among various programs (Environmental Systems, Sustainable Environmental Design, Circulatory Materials and Resources, Sustainable Energy, and Quantum Energy), each of which consists of several courses. On the other hand, research guidance in the Master's and Doctor's Courses will deepen students' knowledge in their specialized fields, and will provide them with advanced research developing skills, through participation in cutting-edge research topics in their respective laboratories.
