We had the opportunity to visit Shimadzu Corporation in Kyoto, where five graduates from our laboratory who obtained their master’s degrees are currently employed and engaged in work related to mass spectrometry instruments.
During the visit, we received an overview of the company’s activities. In addition, students from our laboratory gave presentations on their research, followed by fruitful discussions.
At the showroom and factory, we were given detailed explanations not only of mass spectrometers, with which we are already quite familiar, but also of medical devices utilizing X-ray technology. We were even given the opportunity to operate some of the instruments ourselves.
We hope to continue and further strengthen this valuable exchange in the future.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our laboratory alumni—Dr. Kannen, Mr. Imoto, and Mr. Hong—as well as to all those at Shimadzu Corporation who kindly hosted us.
